Please excuse this travel diva as the excitement over the Royal Wedding is building up, I’d like to take an intermission from posting my travel journey in the US and participate in the world’s largest and most famous wedding, the Royal Wedding of Prince William and Catherine or Kate Middleton.

They are going to be married in the Westminster Abbey… and I’m kind of proud to say I.Have.Been.At.The. Westminster.Abbey. LOL.

Kings, queens, statesmen and soldiers; poets, priests, heroes and villains – the Abbey is a must-see living pageant of British history. Every year Westminster Abbey welcomes over one million visitors who want to explore this wonderful 700-year-old building which is the coronation church of England. Thousands more flock to the Abbey for worship at daily services.

Westminster Abbey has hosted 14 Royal Weddings.

And now, Prince William is going to get married there today, on April 29, 2011.

Kate Middleton is going to march down the aisle at Westminster Abbey and she would start here, where the Travel Diva has stood before. :D

Jackson Moments

April 29, 2011

When my husband and I came to Atlanta last year, we made sure we visited our friends in Jackson whom we met in Malaysia. And so we stayed with them for a couple of days. And within that couple of days, we did so many things and my friend and her family took us to the World of Coca Cola and Stone Mountain Park.

It was quite a moment for us, thus, when I made my photo album in my facebook, I entitled it Jackson Moments.

I never thought I’d be back here this soon.

And so when we came here, our host had an Easter Dinner. I am so sorry I didn’t take photos. I was a bit shy then. After all it was only my first day. LOL.

Anyways… the next day we were going to South Carolina. My husband rented a car from the airport. Ricky, our host, took him to the airport.

I felt a bit ripped off because when my husband booked for the car, it said it was only 20$ per day. Plus the insurance, the over all total came up to 175$. I was okay with it. But when he came back, I was told, he paid 200+. I can’t even remember how much but he paid 30$ more per day just for the insurance. The insurance was more expensive than the car rental itself!

But we’re on work-holiday mode so we just let it slip.

But I was excited to be driving down to South Carolina. Will let you know more about it on my next post.

And so, yes.. this is Jackson, Georgia. It’s quite a quiet town. I like it here so much.

Hello, Chicago!

Aafter a 10-hour flight from Narita International Airport in Japan, we finally landed at Chicago O’Hare International Airport. From Japan, we took the ANA Flight. I love the service. The Japanese Air Crew was very friendly and very accommodating. You know we asked a lot for drinks and they just kept smiling.

I loved the food, too. I was amused when they gave us a menu list because there was a calorie count in every menu choice. Of course, I chose something Japanese. The irony is that they served ice cream for dessert. And it’s not just any ordinary ice cream. It was Haagen-Dazs on Air Nippon Airway!

And while hubby reveled on tomato juice, I enjoyed red wine. It didn’t make me sleep though. I watched 4 movies instead!

At Chicago O’Hare airport, although it wasn’t our final destination, we had to go through Immigration counter, claim our baggage and passed through Customs for security check.

We waited for another couple of hours at the terminal and took the domestic flight using United Air. I guess Unired Airline is a budget airline. They didn’t serve food. They served some drinks though. Coke for me and another tomato juice for the hubs.

It was cold in Chicago, at about 8 deg celcius.

I couldn’t wait to finally arrive in Atlanta and see my friends.

We are staying at a friend’s in Jackson, that’s in Southern part of Georgia.

So many on our list of things to do… I can’t wait.
