Archive for June, 2012

Just a couple of months ago, one of my students asked me to try chilli pan mee. Since I was still catering my food, I didn’t say yes. But last month, I decided to make my own lunch and my son’s to pack. Then I was invited again for a chilli pan mee.

I am glad I went for it. Ever since I tried it, I couldn’t stop thinking about having it over and over again for lunch.

USJ 9 Chilli Pan Mee costs something like 6RM per serving. It comes with soup with potato leaves.

How do you eat chilli pan mee?

Just mix everything (mee or noodles, dried fried garlic, crispy friend anchovies, ground meat, half-fried egg), add in some dried ground chillis. And enjoy!

Super nice with coke, too.

And so, if you happen to be in Subang Jaya, in USJ 9 in particular, and if you’re looking for some authentic Malaysian Chinese food, head over to Chilli Pan Mee USJ 9 and be treated with this scrumptous dish.

I was checking out Living Social because I wanted to buy some things. I stumbled upon this offer that looked so irresistible. Cyberview Resort and Spa Hotel was where I got married. My husband and I try to go there at least once a year to just visit the place and reminisce our first day of marriage. And when I saw this deal at Living Social, I couldn’t help but buy for 2 reasons: The first reason was stated above and the second reason was because I am a sucker of raw oysters and the hubs is a sucker of tiger prawns. LOL.

The value of the deal is RM45/pax which gets you a saving of 40%. The validity is until 12th of December, 2012. I bought 4 vouchers (1 person per voucher). 2 of which I am going to use for our wedding anniversary dinner in November. He-he.

Koh Lipe, Thailand was dubbed as one of the top 20 holiday destinations in the world for 2012, according to the National Geographic.  My husband and I have been trying to book a holiday for two since December last year. We found it was hard to book the dates we’re both free.

I have been to Koh Lipe a few times and each time, I stayed at Mountain Resort, Koh Lipe on the sunset side of the island. I loved it there and I had been wanting to take my husband there as well.

The only problem was, I didn’t wanna leave the kids again with my parents-in-law coz mom-in-law had been sickly these days and dad-in-law has been busy with work. But two weeks ago when the hubs checked with my sis-in-law, we’re so glad that she’s all-willing to look after the kids while I and the hubs go for our long overdue romantic getaway. Indeed, sisters-in-law are heaven-sent. Thanks Dewi!

And so, while looking up on how to book for Mountain Resort, Koh Lipe, I am so glad to have discovered that they already have their own website. (http://mountainresortlipe.com). I contacted them via phone but I was re-directed to do bookings by email.

Booking for a place at Mountain Resort Koh Lipe was quite easy. I am glad I could do my bookings and reservations using my paypal account.

And yes, I asked for a transport service from Hatyai to Pakbarra to Koh Lipe. Glad they do have that service, for a cheaper alternative compared to buying tix from any of the agencies I used before.

From Hatyai – Pakbarra, the minivan costs B200 (20RM) per person. From Pakbarra to Koh Lipe by ferry, it costs B450 (RM45) per person, one way.

Since it is low season, the normal B2,400 per air-con VIP type chalet is now lowered down to B1,100. I wanted to book the V1 which I always used but unfortunately, it’s already booked by another customer. It’s alright though. Oh, by the way, the rate B1,100 per night excludes breakfast. So we need to order separately for breakfast.

I am also trying to get a snorkeling trip around Koh Lipe island. I saw it costs something like B550 that would include snorkeling mask, lunch, fruit, and boat ride for a day.

I am very excited.

I am really hoping for a good break with the hubs.

And yes, have I mentioned I bought an underwater camera (Nikon Coolpix S30) just for this trip? Awesome.
