More Photos of Phuket

January 15, 2012

Can’t resist posting more images of Phuket, Thailand. Image taken with a Nikon D7000 with 18-105mm kit lens.

This is from Kata Hillview. You can actually see 3 beaches of Phuket: Kata, Karon and Patong beaches.

The image below is an islet that you can see from Promthaep Cape in Rawai. Spent a lot of time looking at the scene. Adjacent to the cape is Nai Harn beach. Like I said, we used to go to Nai Harn beach for a swim on the weekend. Back then, it wasn’t very crowded both with people and with charter yatchs.

Our family just wrapped up our year with a travel to one of our favorite holiday destinations: Phuket, Thailand.

We stayed at Crystal Inn for a couple of nights. Everytime we go to Phuket, we opt to stay in the town area as it is very convenient for food, shopping and car rentals. We rented a Honda Civic for 1,000Baht per day. Not bad for a nice car like that.

Took my family and my friends from Brazil around Phuket, showing them my favorite places to go. Images below speak volume. I borrowed them from my photography blog, by the way.

Those images are taken at the Southern part of Phuket. I stayed in Rawai when I was posted there. We used to go a lot to Nai Harn beach for swimming on weekends, Promthaep Cape and/or Kata Hillview for sunset vieweing.

I’m so glad I was able to tour my friends around. My kids were very happy just driving and seeing the place. We went to Kata Noi beach for a swim too.

After coming back from our year-end family trip, husband and I started planning on our next family holiday. I sort of bumped into a cheap holidays to majorca website and I thought we could probably consider going there. Majorca is in Spain. I have a friend who lives there who would be willing to give us more info about the city. Majorca, no doubt, is a good place to go for holidays. A lot of tourists visit the place for its greenery, water reforms and landscapes.

Writing about Majorca makes my feet itchy to go already. LOL. Anyways, will post more about our travels soon.

I haven’t gone to a lot of beaches but I can surely share the best beaches I have gone so far.

And since I live here in Malaysia, there are two beaches that I like best:

1. Kuantan Beach along Swiss Garden Resort.

The beach area is soo huge that I felt comfortable with my kids running around without having to fear they might get into the water .

2.  Langkasuka Beach in Langkawi, Malaysia.

I don’t have photos to share but what I like about Langkasuka Beach is that it is very exclusive to Langkasuka Hotel guests.

3. Phi Phi Island Beach in Thailand

I was able to live in Phuket for 3 years and within those years, I have gone to so many beaches. But there are two beaches in Phuket that’s unforgettable for me: Phi Phi Island beach and the other one which I am going to mention later.  The reason why it was unforgettable for me is because it was the first time ever in my life to wear a two-piece suit for swimming. I mean you’d think I was very indecent but actually, I was overdressed as guests there wore topless. And you can’t blame ‘em. They wanted an even tan on their skin!

4. Raya Beach, Thailand

It’s 4 hours away by a long tail boat. The first time I went there, I was totally awed by its exclusiveness. A paradise on earth, as they say. (Sent friends for honeymoon there, too). And promised myself I would take my husband there, just me and him. It was unforgettable to me because one time, when I was snorkeling, I saw, in real, an octopus which head was bigger than mine, gliding through the rocks. I didn’t have underwater camera and so I wasn’t able to capture the experience. But the moment was egged in my memory.

For now, I am going to list down 3 of my favorite beaches. Will have to continue later.

Meanwhile, I was go to Tuscany and get an experience there. I probably need to look around for Villas in Tuscany and go to Elba beach and experience its clear water. I hope, one day, I can visit Tuscany in Italy.

For now, I am scanning my photos of  the beaches that I have gone to so I can go on with my top 10 beaches story. :D
