Singapore

Hello again, Travel Divas!

It’s Tuesday once again and we are here to show off our wet and wild September entries.

I just came back from Singapore. Didn’t wanna skip this week’s theme, otherwise you all would get suspicious already. *wink*

Anyways, took my family to Singapore for a short visit. We also visited Sentosa Island where my kids got excited with the water fountain. And so, my entry for this week is still my daughter, playing with the water.

Doesn’t she look like she had a ball of a time playing with the water?

By the way, I picked last week’s winner thru random.org (as usual) as it is easier for me. I hope you all don’t mind.

And so, yeah… if you’re number 23 (which I believe belongs to Kayce of Trips and Travels), please have your paypal id sent to: janet_bl @ yahoo dot com.

I wonder who will win this week!

My parents are in Malaysia visiting me and my family for two months. Since Philippine passport holders only get 30 days of visa in Malaysia, we need to go out of the country for their visa run.

So now, I am looking for a hotel in Singapore that’s affordable and central to everything.

We used to stay in Berjaya Hotel last time because we have a friend that has a time share for Berjaya Hotels. But when we asked him this, time, there was no available rooms for the dates we’re going.

Now I am searching for some budget hotels in Singapore. There’s once hotel my sister Joy and I stayed at somewhere in Little India but I forgot the name of the hotel. Gaahh!!! Memory gap to the max!

Anyways, when I googled some budget hotels, I found these ones to be affordable:

1. Fragrance Hotel in Geylang Road

Rate: S$68/room

2. ASPHodel Inn in Little India

Rate: S$80/room

3. Checkers Inn in Little India

Rate: S$30/room

4. Hotel Re @ Pearls Hill

Rate: S$180/room

5. There’s also backpackers place at Feel at Home

Rate: per bed basis – S$25/person.

We are going to try to book Fragrance Hotel in Geylang. It’s just 12 minute drive to Orchard Road and 23 minute drive to Sentosa Island. It should be okay. We’re planning a day tour in Sentosa Island.

It’s been soo long since I have gone there. I think the last time was when I went there with my sister Joy, just the two of us and I was quite upset when the lady at the Immigration counter gave me 4 days of stay in Singapore and my sister got 14 days. :(

Singapore Visit

September 29, 2008
November 2005 – We went to Singapore to spend our second year wedding anniversary. Our boy was 1 year and i month old that time.

1. Visited Orchard Road: Orchard road is the most happening place in Singapore for shopping, hanging out with friends, etc. It’s a very lively place with big malls around.

2. Enjoyed Berjaya Hotel. And of course, as you can guess by now – our 4 day/3 night- stay at Berjaya Hotel in Singapore was sponsored by a friend.

3. Our favorite place in Singapore – Sentosa Island

On the background was the southenmost tip of South East Asia.

Beach Tram ride – (Omigosh… can’t believe how long my hair was!)

Beach tram in the background. There’re so many things to do and see in Sentosa Island. You need to ride in beach transportations to get around. There were buses, beach trams, trains, etc. There were a lot of attractions at Sentosa Island like the Fort Siloso, Dolphin Show, Moneky Show, and Underwater World (which they said was better than Aquaria KLCC). I’ve gone to Underwater World but that was 5 years ago so I can’t compare it now with the Aquaria here in Malaysia.
