More Photos of Phuket

January 15, 2012

Can’t resist posting more images of Phuket, Thailand. Image taken with a Nikon D7000 with 18-105mm kit lens.

This is from Kata Hillview. You can actually see 3 beaches of Phuket: Kata, Karon and Patong beaches.

The image below is an islet that you can see from Promthaep Cape in Rawai. Spent a lot of time looking at the scene. Adjacent to the cape is Nai Harn beach. Like I said, we used to go to Nai Harn beach for a swim on the weekend. Back then, it wasn’t very crowded both with people and with charter yatchs.

Our family just wrapped up our year with a travel to one of our favorite holiday destinations: Phuket, Thailand.

We stayed at Crystal Inn for a couple of nights. Everytime we go to Phuket, we opt to stay in the town area as it is very convenient for food, shopping and car rentals. We rented a Honda Civic for 1,000Baht per day. Not bad for a nice car like that.

Took my family and my friends from Brazil around Phuket, showing them my favorite places to go. Images below speak volume. I borrowed them from my photography blog, by the way.

Those images are taken at the Southern part of Phuket. I stayed in Rawai when I was posted there. We used to go a lot to Nai Harn beach for swimming on weekends, Promthaep Cape and/or Kata Hillview for sunset vieweing.

I’m so glad I was able to tour my friends around. My kids were very happy just driving and seeing the place. We went to Kata Noi beach for a swim too.

After coming back from our year-end family trip, husband and I started planning on our next family holiday. I sort of bumped into a cheap holidays to majorca website and I thought we could probably consider going there. Majorca is in Spain. I have a friend who lives there who would be willing to give us more info about the city. Majorca, no doubt, is a good place to go for holidays. A lot of tourists visit the place for its greenery, water reforms and landscapes.

Writing about Majorca makes my feet itchy to go already. LOL. Anyways, will post more about our travels soon.

Singapore Trip Cancelled

August 10, 2011

This Travel Diva’s feet were really itching to go back to Singapore to take my parents and sister for their visa run. Unfortunately, I my funds won’t be enough as we won’t have free accommodation and we have to stay 4 nights in Singapore.

It’s my bad actually. I bought Clark – Kuala Lumpur tickets for them with these dates: July 14 til September 14, 2011. And so, I thought if their ticket back to the Philippines will be on the 14th, it’s just nice to do a visa run on the 13th of August, stay in Singapore for 2 nights, drive back on the 15th.

Philippine passport holders get one month of visa everytime. It should have been correct if I didn’t miscalculate the number of days per month that they were going to be here. And so, today, I realized -which is a good thing to do so we have time to buy KTM train ticket for Hatyai, Thailand trip tomorrow – that both the months of July and August will have 31 days.

And so, we need to take my parents out of the country by the 12th of August since they came on the 14th of July. They need to leave the country at least one day before the visa runs out. And so, we need to be back to Malaysia by the 16th of August so that my parents could leave for the Philippines one day before the 14th of September.

Gosh. I am not sure whether I am making sense. But that is the reason why we needed to stay out of the country for at least 4 nights. And I won’t be able to afford a 4-night stay in Singapore.

So yes, we are going back to Hatyai. My parents and my sister have gone there before. But they don’t mind going back there.

I am also hoping to meet friends for photoshoot. :D
