travel tips

I haven’t finished packing yet but here I am, wanting to blog on what to do while in Melbourne, Australia. My husband and I are currently doing our assignments. Planning on our itinerary, listing down things to do and where to go while in Melbourne.

Our schedule would look something like this:

Day 1

Arrival at Melbourne Airport, picked up by our friend, rest and go for dinner.

Day 2

Drive through the Great Ocean Road.

Now, there is a couple of things to look forward to on the Great Ocean Road Tour. There’s this world famous Twelve Apostles rock formations. I was told that these craggy limestone stacks rising majestically from the Southern Ocean are sure to leave you spellbound. And I am quite tempted to take the 12 Apostle Helicopter to see the aerial view of these unique rock formations. But it cost quite a bit and I don’t have a proper lens to take  aerial photos so I guess I’m going to miss taking the aerial tour. I’ll do my best to take photos of the Twelve Apostles, though. Pramis. Right now, I am searching on how to take photos of the Twelve Apostles, where to position myself, which beach to stop on, etc. I truly can’t wait.

Another thing to look forward to is the Great Oatway National Park where you can see Australia’s wildlife. Looking forward to seeing Kangaroos and Koala bears all over the place.

Day 3

Will reserve this day touring the city. We don’t have any particular place in mind. We’ll probably hang around Victoria Market. Oh yes, the Victoria Market! What was I thinking? This was the first thing I saw when I was looking on what to do while in Melbourne! LOL.

Day 4

A friend is taking us for Mornington Peninsula for wine tasting and strawberry picking.

Day 5

To the Philip Island we go! There’s so much to do there and I am sure my kids would love it. There’s this park called Amaze ‘n Things that I look forward to going. It’s going to be fun and at the same time, educational, too.

Day 6

Church. Peter’s invited to speak at a Sunday morning service. We’re going to spend time fellowshiping with fellow Christians. :D

Day 7

No plans for the day. We’ll probably do a last minute shopping… Maybe at a thrift store? Hmmm…

Day 8

Fly back home.

By the way, this treat is a blessing from the Lord through this travel blog. I praise you, oh Lord. For you are such a generous God!

Do you have a vacation package and you want to go on a road trip? If you have never been on a family road trip before, the prospects can be daunting. And if you have been on one, the memory might be such that you are not looking forward to going on another. However, it is possible to have fun on a road trip and to make it one that would always bring fond memories in everyone’s mind.

The first thing you need to do is determine what would be needed on the road trip and prepare accordingly. This is not just limited to food and drink, although those are very important. But when you are traveling with children you need to be armed with anti-boredom devices; bored children do not make for enjoyable travel companions. So prepare to get stocked on toys, coloring books, DVD players and lots of snacks.

When it comes to planning for snacks, go easy on the sugar. Kids tend to get high on sugar and become hyperactive. Pick healthy snacks like fruits and those that are generally low on sugar.
Stock up on games that the kids would enjoy playing. If you have a lot of board games, pack those. You could also go on the internet to search out games that they can play. Print those and bring them along. You can never have too many games on a road trip; kids get bored easily and the more you have, the longer you can keep them occupied. (more…)

There are many places that kids would love in the U.S where the entire family would enjoy a lovely vacation. However, there are some which are considered the Top places to visit with kids.

Disney World

This is a wonderland that draws children and adults alike. It has several theme Parks and is created to appeal to the whole family. What you would find at Walt Disney World include the Seal World, Disney Village, Universal Studios and the Cirque du Soleil – La Nouba amongst others.

The Cirque du Soleil – La Nouba is a prime attraction on its own. This is a circus performed in a theatre that was built solely for that purpose. It has a cast of over sixty five artist from fifteen different countries. Watching these artists is pure magic.

The great thing about planning a vacation at Disney World is that you can fit it into your budget so that regardless of the size of your budget, you can still have an awesome time.

Hawaii

Hawaii is made up of several islands that are each considered child friendly. However, the island which draws the most families is Maui. This is not just because of its stunning beaches, but also because of the host of activities which children can enjoy. The Maui Ocean Center has the largest aquarium in Hawaii and kids are always drawn to that. (more…)
